Cone of Shame

Bleu before he got bandage removed.

Bleu has had his cone of shame for a week now and thankfully his foot is getting better! He has his 4th vet visit this Friday and hopefully he will get a ticket to go to the lake soon to swim! We are still cleaning his foot every time he comes in from outside and limiting his time outdoors. He is on house arrest and is only allowed to go out for a short time period to do his business. This is sad for him because he loves to be outside and just sit on the driveway and watch the gate. He is such a good guard dog! His pill box has been full of his regular medicine(glucosamine and fish oil) and now his new antibiotics that he still has to take for another week. He will be on antibiotics for a total of 2 weeks by the time he is done recovering!

Now, if your dog has ever had a cone you know how sad it is. We have been trying to stay home with him as much as possible because while we are home we don't have it on him unless it is bed time. He just runs into EVERYTHING. During the first few days, we would put it on him at nighttime and as soon as it was on he would just lay still and not move. He knew it was easier to do that than to run into walls and furniture  in our little house.

I was talking to my friend Allison right after he was injured and she said "Oh watch out with the cone because he will run into the back of your legs!" and INSTANTLY after she said that it happened, again and again. The funniest thing is when we leave. Bleu and Hannah always perch by the windows in the front to watch us go and wait for us to return but Bleu with the cone of shame is a sight to see. I feel so bad but giggle every time. He will not give up!

STUPID CURTAIN IN MY WAY OF LOOKING AT MY PARENTS!

Bye Mom and Dad... Love- Bleu

I found some funny cone of shame pictures on pinterest to give you all a laugh.

I wanted to decorate Bleu's e collar but Holland said no.  I thought he would be so much happier if he was dressed up as a flower or a margarita for two weeks!

Hannah knows her brother isn't fully healed yet so she has been snuggling with him a bunch lately.  One more week and Bleu should be back to normal!
